It's what everyone wants in their team: integrity, ingenuity, determination and an unstoppable work ethic. Those traits worked for the McLees brothers on the football field, and they are still serving Dale and Jimmy well at their custom home-building business, Five Star Construction.
"We take pride in what we do," Dale says. "Rest assured, it's going to be done right, period, no exceptions." The McLees's work closely with homeowners to find the features and styles that fit their life and budget. "We build it like we will live in it," he says.
Since 1992, Jimmy and Dale have been building custom homes across the Upstate at a variety of price points, "from dog house to White House." In addition to home building, they share a passion for two things: family (Dale has nine grandchildren and Jimmy has four children, pictured here) and football. Dale played at Parker High and then played semi-pro in the 1980s, while Jimmy played at Mauldin High and went on to play for Danny Ford and Ken Hatfield at Clemson. That background "helps with our team mentality," Dale says. "Plus, just like football, you can't be in our business and half-do something."
