While we may not get a ton of snow here in Upstate South Carolina, we still know how to do the holidays up right. Compiling a complete list of all of the holiday events in the Upstate would take us days — so we’ll just list a few of our favorites in Greenville.

When you’re looking to pick up handmade holiday gifts

Make a stop in at the Indie Craft Parade! The event starts in September and runs through most of December. There’s usually a holiday popup sale that happens sometime in December, so watch for that. The holiday fair brings together many of the local artisans, craftspeople, and makers involved in the annual Indie Craft Parade, as well as a few new vendors, in order to put together a one-stop holiday shop full of items handmade by locals! Every year is different, so there’s no telling what gems you might stumble upon.

When you’re searching for a way to have fun with the whole family

One of Greenville’s most popular holiday attractions, Ice on Main brings that old-fashioned iceskating fun down south with our very own ice rink! Nestled next to the Courtyard Marriott on Main Street, grown-ups and little ones are sure to have a great time! Hot chocolate and coffee are available for warming up after you’re done. Ice on Main opens right before Thanksgiving and runs through the entire holiday season!

Because Christmas just isn’t Christmas without a parade

Downtown Greenville is always full of Christmas spirit on the first Saturday in December during the Poinsettia Christmas Parade! From 6 to 7:30 pm, you’ll see a dark December night brighten with parade floats, happy crowds and, rumor has it, even Santa Claus himself! This is THE can’t-miss event of the holiday season here in Greenville County, so be sure to mark it on your calendar! All the stores downtown will have their doors open with Christmas displays fully unveiled .

Prefer not to fight Greenville’s Christmas crowds?

Head on over to Fountain Inn for their annual Christmas Festival! With hayrides, iceskating, a grand Christmas tree, and even horse-drawn carriage rides to see the beautiful Christmas decorations put together by Fountain Inn’s most festive families, you’ll find plenty to do and to see for the whole family! There’s even an option to tour the inside of two beautiful Fountain Inn homes and see how they do Christmas right. On back-to-back nights, the Christmas Parade and tree-lighting ceremony kick off the festivities!

Tis the season
